Kelsall, Stephen

I became interested in photography at school and learned to develop and print the black and white film taken with my first camera, a very basic Agfa Silette. Now, I have fully embraced digital photography and the change from “Darkroom” to “Lightroom”. What hasn’t changed though is my preference for monotone, particularly for portraiture and landscapes where the absence of colour allows character and composition to take centre stage, creating an interpretation that can say more, not less, than a colour image.
